Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008 - Day One

The Day One of Singapore Toy And Comic Convention 2008 at Suntec was massive. Thousands of people packed the hall. The guys from My Tummy Toys and I have to squeeze our way through to the Madcap booth. The lovely couple of Madcap - Nada and Kika, agreed to customise a drawing for Artifact store. Our very first painting from international artists. You'll see this beautiful piece of art at our store real soon. Not for sale though :)

From this convention, one particular artist that really impressed me is Pete Fowler from UK. His Monserism range of vinyl toys are awesome. The Firebone Fly figurine that I've got from his booth really glow well in the dark. My biggest regret is that I should've got the TRWG! figurine.

Before I left the hall, I bought a Gloomy Bear X Bearbrick and got Mori Chack, the artist, autograph on it. Sweet ending to a convention trip which I've been waiting for years here.

Looking forward to the convention next year.

Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008 - Day Zero

We've been looking forward to the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008 since we heard about it a couple of months back. Today, we're happy to be invited to the preview of this event which should have held here years ago. Rather late then never, we joined the guys from My Tummy Toys to the convention at Suntec.

At the Suntec hall, it's like a mega playground for "big kids". So many great artists and their awesome artworks and figurines exhibiting at the booths.

We stopped by our customers' Nada and Kika (Switzerland) booth to show our support. They were shopping at our store yesterday. Coincidentally, they knew Marin and Helmy from My Tummy Toys too. Small world.

So disappointed that Joseph Wong Chak of Master Q (better known as Lao Fu Zi) was not able to appear at the convention. He is truly a pioneer in Asia's comic scene.

In the night, we were at the Butter Factory to witness some live illustration session from Simone Tokidoki, Pete Fowler, Touma, Mori Chack and Devil Robots' artist.

Design By Humans

Hello Everyone,
This week, we welcome a new t-shirt label from USA, Design By Humans, to the Artifact family.
Really cool tees. While we're unpacking the shipment and hanging them on the rack, some have went into the fitting rooms, to the teller and into the bag. No joke.
One piece per size per design. It's that limited!

Later,
The Artifact Team
